J. Alex Brinson
Founder & Chairman, Think Brinson Group of Companies
Mr. Brinson brings more than two decades of entrepreneurial, advisory, and business experience spanning the United States and Canada, with an expanding network of relationships across Europe and Asia.
His career has placed him alongside businesses, property owners, entrepreneurs, investors, and some of North America’s most recognizable organizations. His experience includes work involving Whole Foods Market, CBS, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Oprah Winfrey Network, and the City of Olympia Fields, among others.
Mr. Brinson’s roots in real estate and hospitality extend back to his business career in Canada. Through an environmental and recycling business he founded, his company provided services to properties and operating businesses associated with prominent Canadian ownership groups, including the Aquilini family and Northland Properties, the hospitality company founded by the Gaglardi family. His work included the Sutton Place Hotel and Denny’s restaurant locations, giving him early exposure to the operational side of institutional real estate, hospitality, and multi-location businesses.
Today, as Founder and Chairman of Think Brinson Group of Companies, Mr. Brinson operates at the intersection of real estate, private investment, capital, and strategic advisory. His relationships extend from New York property owners and developers to investment bankers, private investors, and family offices in the United States and internationally, including relationships with family offices in Asia and Luxembourg.
That breadth of experience informs the philosophy behind Think Brinson Real Estate. Real estate is rarely just about the property. A transaction can involve financing, investment considerations, legal and tax advisors, renovations, property operations, family objectives, and long-term wealth planning. Mr. Brinson approaches each engagement with that broader perspective while assembling the appropriate professionals around the client when specialized expertise is required.
An active member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), Mr. Brinson brings an entrepreneurial mindset, global perspective, and relationship-driven approach to serving buyers, sellers, investors, property owners, and families throughout New York City.
